You have the same exact problem I have with my 2001 Ram. I have not
figured it out yet. its done that ever since I bought it. Its been
getting worse lately. Another problem I noticed is a rattle from the
transmission tunnel. It seems to be transmitted through the chassis -
as I can't hear it from outside the truck. Just inside the cab. I fear
this quick jump in RPM may not be the lock up in the T.C - but internal
slippage instead because its so fast. I also have a problem with it,
where it will unlock and lock and unlock and lock over and over... but
not as rapidly... its slower in its progression. I'm pretty sure I have
a bad T.C - I just hope thats all it is.
