My GF drives a 98 Ram with the 318 in it, when her belly pan gasket went she
didn't experience any odd behavior other than it using 2 quarts of oil in 60
miles. It may have idled a little rough, but that's nothing out of the
ordinary.

Definately check down the throttle bores though. How much oil are you going
through?
