In case anyone is interested. Autozone is now carrying Valvoline
ATF+4 transmission fluid.
Here in Winchester VA it was $3.98 a quart. They only had 12 quarts so I
bought them out. Gotta do both my Dakota and the wife's Durango, both
have the 45RFE so I'll hit the other Autozones in the are and get more.
Going to do a complete flush on both vehicles and the transfer cases. I
have the aux tranny cooler so I'll be in for lots of quarts doing this for
both trucks.
Now they just have to finish the shop so that I can get in there. I
expect to have a working lift by middle of next week. I won't tackle this
job laying on the ground.
I think that the Amsoil equivalent was $8.65 a quart and the Stealership
was around $8 or so last time I checked.
I've had good results with Valvoline stuff in the past so I think that
this is a decent deal. I've never used any of the Amsoil stuff so I can
only comment on price, which the Valvoline wins out for me now.
