I've never understood the fascination behind jumping a General
Lee. Well, OK, I did when I was something like 10 years old,
but now that I's all growed up, it just makes me cringe.
Seems like a better "stunt" might be to take a trashed Charger
and restify it into a General Lee to give away to one of the
event patrons, rather than consigning yet another of these
classic vehicles to the scrap heap. Sure, some day maybe there
will be a big enough aftermarket to build a '68-70 style Charger
from scratch, but even then, there are only a finite number of
the original cars left, and smashing them into the ground only
makes the remaining vehicles that much less obtainable for those
of us who actually care about 'em... Oh well.

Its not just jumping the General Lee, stuff like demolition
derbies, draining an import's engine of oil and blowing it up, etc.
I've never understood any of that sort of senseless destruction.
Seems a shame to just destroy something that obviously has some
life left in it. Maybe its because I'm cheap, maybe I'm a
sentimental fool, or perhaps I was dropped as a child, I dunno.
Whatever the case, it just doesn't seem right. It stings just
a little bit more though when its a classic Mopar on the pointed
end of the stick.
