Amen Ray, amen...I have a Fastman TB, I noticed practically no difference
whatsoever, but it is pretty.....

I can have you outrunning a 4.7 for a lot less than 2 grand. Since you
have a 4x4,if your tires are stock size, go to a 4.10 gear. If they're
larger than stock go with a 4.56 gear. That will be your greatest
improvement.
Forget the polished TB. There's nothing in it. I've tried them all,
including a billet F&B and there's no improvement in performance in a mild
engine. I use a 52mm but then I shift at 6000 rpm along with a lot of other
high rpm mods too! A stone stock TB was good for 13.60s on my 5.2.
Next get a Superchips programmer. Available from www.autoanything.com for
$399 with free shipping. Sorry, you just missed a sale at $310. You can
program for 87 octane or 92+ octane. Your choice.
Next, get a Gibson cat back system. Good improvement in low and midrange
torque there also. Also works fine at 6000 rpm.
Then maybe a FIPK from K&N. Just make sure whatever you get isolates the
air intake from underhood heat.
A 180 degree thermostat may help a little too.
If all that isn't enough, consider a high flow cat and then maybe headers.
But make sure your header choice comes with a mandrel bent crossover pipe.
Without that you're not getting all that's available.
Check out my mods at my dragtruk link but bear in mind they're not
necessarily appropriate for a 4x4 that shifts at less than 6000 rpm.
