Nice to see a name from the old days pop up on the DML! :-) Yep,
I noticed in the article they had a caption drooling all over the
1200cfm throttle body. If somebody wrote into their Q+A column asking
for advice regarding how to make a 1200cfm carb work on a stock or
warmed over 360, they'd probably laugh themselves silly and think
the guy was smoking something. Yet, when using a throttle body which
needs to meter only air and therefore actually needs *less* CFM than
a carb to run the same motor, they see nothing wrong with slapping
that monster on there? Kinda funny, actually. :-) Granted, the side
effects of going too big with a TB aren't anywhere near as drastic
as with a carb, but still... If bigger was better, we'd all be running
around with throttle bodies that were nothing more than a single butterfly
in the shape of the ID of the Holley 4bbl flange! ;-)
Well, maybe after some of these packages get installed, you
can interest Mopar Muscle in a head to head comparison of the
F&B vs. the Edelbrock. ;-)
