I think that ads for octane boosters haven't changed. When a booster
was put out as raising the octane by 9, it really meant .9, so adding
a 9 octane booster (in the correct amount) to 87 octane gas really
only raises octane to 87.9 :-(

You might want to try the Stage II when you have just a little 87 octane
in the tank and see how it runs. If it pings add some 89 and try again.
Then go to 91 if need be. I tried that with my 97 MP PCM to see
if my engine would ping on the street with 87 octane this past summer.
It didn't so I've been running the MP PCM with regular gas since. It would
not surprise me one bit that results will differ from one motor to motor.
