On my 2wd, I use factory-sized Cooper Discoverer H/Ts on stock wheels as
my winter shoes. For a domestic manufacturer, I think the Cooper brands
generally offer a pretty good tire for the money.

Subject: DML: Tire recommendations
I use my '97 2WD Dakota for basic to-and-from-work transportation with
the occasional hauling, towing and dirt/gravel roads. I'm looking for
some recommendations for good all-weather tires that would fit on my
stock rims, wouldn't impact speedometer readings, are good for pavement
but won't fall apart when driven on rough terrain, and aren't at the
upper end of the price range.
Opinions on tire store chains (or even local places in the Dayton, OH
area) would also be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kurt
