Well, its cheap to find out. Just buy a pulley and put it on. If that
isn't it, return it. Gotta start somewhere. I have to replace my belt
annually, with a Gatorback, cause it starts squeaking on its own as well.
You sure have enough miles and age on that idler to be a possibility. I
have already replaced mine and its three years younger than yours. Please
let us know what it is when you figure it out.

The belt was replaced several months ago with a Goodyear gatorback
and the idler was checked and seemed good. I'm hesitant to blame the
squeal on the idler since there is no change in the sound with
changes in RPM. I may be wrong, but it seems that there should be
some change with engine speed.
