Well, a couple of years ago I started using Supertech filters after
cutting one open and discovering it functionally identical to the M1
filter I had been using. Blackstone backs this up, as my #'s from ST
oil filters are on par with my M1 and K&N readings. I suspect there
might be a difference in quality, but it is to small to influence 5k
oilchange readings. The main reason I like K&N's is being able to use a
  1" wrench to remove it because of the cap. Thats convenient...

Guess I will have to dig up the link of the place that gives the dozen
discount...
