Oops...just re-read your post and noticed you got all cylinders firing. So
now I'm really curious. Maybe my cylinder problem isn't the cause of my
vibration...

???????????????????????????????????????????

I had a similar problem in my '93. Serious vibration in lock up. I also
thought it was the TC but it steadily got worse in other gears, it was just
much more pronounced in OD w/lock up (not just OD). I finally found that
cylinder 3 and 7 were not firing. With this unbalanced firing I figured the
vibration would be amplified when in lock-up due the 1:1 ratio of the engine
and tranny.

(This next paragraph may not help you any but just a side note)

Unfortunately I have not been able to verify that this is what is causing
the vibration because I haven't been able to get those 2 cylinders to fire
but it's a strong suspicion. I replaced all the wires, plugs, cap, rotor,
checked for fuel, spark, bad grounds, corroded harness etc. My next step is
to remove a valve cover to check the valve train. And now (as in a recent
post) my '96 won't start. Replaced crank position sensor, checked cam
position sensor, ASD relay, checked for fuel, spark, broken distributor
drive teeth, and replaced PCM.

Please let me know your progress as it may help me also.

Hope this helps,

James

???????????????????????????????????????????

I have a nasty vibration in my '99.

At first I thought it was the lockup TC as it only seemed to do it going
into and in lockup, but I'm, pretty sure it did it the other day before
hitting OD. And in neutral this AM, I think it did it, although very
slightly by just running the engine up to 1600 RPMs...

The problem is most pronounced on the highway in lockup at 1600-2000 RPMs.
Light accelleration gives a groan/moan and a significant vibration. It's
like it's stumbling to go. Step on it some more and it goes away and the
truck accelerates nicely. Ujoints are OK, front end seems OK, got fire on
all 8 cylinders, recent plugs, cap, rotor, wires, otherwise runs strong and
smooth... Victim is 99 *Dakota*, 5.2l, Auto, 4x4 109k, Mopar Performance
PCM.... Ideas anyone?

thanks,

Rick
