It's a check valve that keeps fluid in the line...not really required though
since the pump pushes the fluid rather quickly. We replace them with a
standard Y connector.

Subject: DML: y connector for windshield washers: what is it?

The tube from the washer pump goes under the dash, and then is
split by a y connector to go to each squirter.

Mine was leaking, so i replaced it with a regular y connector, but
the original one is more than just a splitter.

What does it do? Is it some sort of relief valve, anti
drainback, drain when not in use or what? I'm not sure what is
wrong with mine, but i took it apart to see what it did and it
*looks* like it should leak. Maybe the hole i saw wasn't suppose
dot bet there.

Anyway, just curious if any of you know what it is for...

Thanks,
Eric
