they are prone to cracking. most heads that are pulled after 50k or so, are
cracked. i have a set that i used for porting, that only had about 20k on
them, and they weren't cracked.

Interesting that he would say that. Did he find cracks in your head?

Out of curiosity (to anyone), do 92 heads differ than any other magnum head?

On a related, but probably not helpful note... over the weekend I
fixed a gushing coolant leak that I've had since December ('94
magnum). Lately I've been losing about as much coolant as you do. I
was thinking a blown gasket or something cracked (externally... not
internally) because I couldn't see the leak, but it gushed out when
hot. After finally pulling the accessories out, I found it was just a
hole in the water pump to intake hose. No cracked heads as far as I
can tell. I retain coolant once again.

I'm interested to know if these heads are actually prone to cracks or
that your mechanic is just on crack.
