If you have access to a machine shop with a hydraulic arbor press, and a
tech who's a good pressman, it can be straightened.
I've seen guys do it to some severely mangled bumpers, where I used to work,
& the finished product - while not perfect - came out fairly straight. There
will probably me some minor flaws where the initial impact point was, but it
shouldn't rub on your tailgate....
