Compressor Oil

What kind of oil goes into a Sanden SD-709 out of a '93 retrofitted to
R-134a? Ester or PAG. If PAG, what viscosity? Is mineral oil the same as one
of these?
If a new filter/dryer arrives with the ports open to the atmosphere (plugs
have fallen off), is the desiccant no good anymore (lets assume it been open
since day 1)?
