2007 uses the NGC4 PCM and has a few engine/suspension changes. Personally,
I'd stick with the 2006 model just due to the abundance of upgrades
available. Not saying that the 2007 models won't have these items though.

I wonder what's different in the 2007 (vs. 2006) model that all those MP
parts won't work in a 2007?
I also heard that the HO Turbo is discontinued for 2008, correct?
If you had a choice between a 2006 and 2007 GT (same low mileage) would you
go for the 2006 just because there's more performance upgrades?

That's correct on the HP rating and there is no Stage-I for 2007 models (at
this time). The PCM isn't just for HP/TQ though...it's recalibrated for the
Blow-Off valve, Shift pattern and shift points are changed, part throttle
and WOT boost are increased (and the mild lag is gone), and boost hold is
improved. Unfortunately, the MP Stage-I PCM only covers up to 2006 model
year.
There actually isn't a whole lot for the '07 models in the new catalog
either. Upgraded lash adjusters (lifters if you want to call them that),
cams, suspension parts, carbon fiber valve cover, upgraded Bosch plugs
(which do work better than the stock Champions), 7.5mm plug wires, H/D
engine mounts (definitely required for modified PT's), short throw shifter
(manual trans), upgraded LSD unit (yeah baby), Borla Exhaust, and cold air -
All Mopar Performance....only go up to the '06 models.

The '07 is 230 HP from the factory, correct? The Stage 1 would seem to be
beneficial to earlier years but only about a 5 HP gain for '06 and '07?

The '03 kit comes with the larger injectors - all others come with just the
PCM (but recommend the blow-off valve as well). Te Stage-I PCM puts the PT
at 235HP/260TQ. If you really want some extra ponies out of the PT:
Stage-I, Blow-Off valve, upper intake tubing from Moss Motors, and a 3"
Exhaust system from the cat-back.

So a Stage 1 kit for an '06 or '07 is just a new PCM? The injectors are
already upgraded? Are these 230 HP before the Stage 1?

The injectors and PCM program are upgraded but not quite at the "Stage-1"
kit level.

How about the new HO Turbo? Does that already include the Stage 1 kit?
Started in '06?

Turbowas available on 2002/2003 (starting) years. Fully loaded would be
either the Touring or GT package. Tips...hehhehe...don't try to change the
timing belt by yourself. ;)
Honestly though - if you grab the turbo model, stage-1 + blow-off valve and
a flowmaster puts you into the mid to low 14's (yes...it's been done several
times) ..... And with 26mpg to boot. The 2.4L is a reliable engine.

My wife want to replace our Windstar with an '05 or '06 PT Cruiser. How is
the dependability of the 2.4? Was the turbo available for all years? What
was the fully loaded trim package called? Any other tips?
Thanks,
James
