Sort of an educated guess here....a friend has a Quad cab Ram. You would
*not* be kind to your adult friends if you made them sit there for an
extended period. By contrast, a Crew cab should have room for full size
adults with similar comfort to the front seat passengers. The PR for the
'09 Ram did say the rear seats had the same rake and seat cushion length as
the fronts.
That would likely account for a shorter bed length.
