But yeah,I mean....changing taillights should be easy.

This is the first of,hopefully,a whole rash of topics
that I'm involved with dealing exclusively with Dodge
trucks,Rams and Daks. This one happens to deal with
that truck that burst onto the scene in 1992 and
"changed everything" for Dodge.....the Ram!

I want to replace the taillights on my '07 Ram. They
look like I've backed into poison ivy,and my lights
are red, swollen, and bumpy. I have a new set of '04
taillights,and they do fit,but here's the deal:

My original lenses have two twist-in light sockets per
side, one for the backup light, and the other dual bulb
socket is for signal/brake. The replacement ('04) lens
has three holes in the back for three separate
bulbs, but that lens assembly has a "socket board" that
holds all three bulbs, and it mounts to the lens from
the back.

Since I have to splice into the existing pigtail or
just replace it to make the '04 lights work,I have two
questions:

1) Is there a source for an oem '04 pigtail besides a
salvage yard? (I need the socket boards too).

2) Are there any places that carry oem-style taillight
connectors/plugs? If I could find those,I could leave
the factory pigtail alone, and just make myself an
adaptor harness for each side.

Thanks,

In conservative love,

Steve P.
