I would think it can. As the rod keeps backing out, the fluid cannot get
back into the master cylinder and keeps pushing the caliper piston out. Of
course it can, it did on mine.

But the brake booster can not lock up a caliper. It's impossible.

Hey, Josh...
When I lost the booster on the DAKSY,
She was starting to pull towards the p-side
I thought sure it was the caliper...
I pilled it & with a c-clamp & a friend, I was able to see that it was
functioning properly...
That's when Rascal clued me in to the Booster...
I also lost the rotor pads & shortly after that wheel bearing went...
Since the Booster change-out, no probs...
Course it took me about 5-6 hours to do it...
