After some extensive data-logging, found the problem. The TQ Converter
wasn't completely engaging in Lock-up mode - causing a very mild shudder
that only presented itself at 40mph/1200rpm. It was approximately a 30rpm
fluctuation in turbine speed which caused the crankshaft rotation to "freak
out" when in that range (actually found the engine RPM dropping down to
300rpm - reported by the crank sensor - causing the P0300).
So...replaced the TQ converter and no more misfire code.
For those who don't know what a "MisFire" means: It's an unexpected change
in crankshaft rotation - anything that changes the crankshaft rotation can
cause a misfire code. It's not just related to the spark plugs or ignition
coil(s).
