Yes, cam/crank codes are present on OBD-I and OBD-II systems. A bad crank
sensor can definitely cause this issue - when they get hot (and are
"defective", they can kill the engine. Once they cool down (10-30 minutes),
it will restart without any problems.

I'll have to break out the FSM and read how to check the sensors. Will a
faulty crank, cam, TPS or MAP sensor throw a code on an OBD II?
