Hmmm..

My '02 did that from day one when new, and I was told that was normal by dealer, and at 160K or so it died last week, wonder if I had a problem they just blew off till my warranty was over?

Ok, for the past 2 days I have been hearing a whine sound from the engine or transmission. Heres my observations.

* It sounds a lot like the whine the power windows make.

* It only occurs when in 1st or 2nd gear -and- truck is accelerating

* Does not occur when stationary.

* Does not accur when de-accelerating.

* Does not occur in park or neutral and reving the engine.

* Sound goes away slightly when the engine/trans is good and hot. Like after 15 minutes of driving.

* Sound seems much louder when engine/trans is cool like early in morning.

Does this sound like bands, clutch packs or torque converter?
