It's just a little ring that pops out and pops back in.

Subject: DML: '98 4x2 318 auto trans OD switch
My Overdrive switch on the end of the column gear selector, has cracked and
split, leaving me to shift only with the shaft.
Is replacing the OD switch housing on the end, a apartment dwellers job,
or do I have to go to the stealer, and have a new steering column installed?
(is it a 10 minute swap out, or does the whole thing have to come apart to
fix the switch on the end.)
Electrically, the switch still functions, it's the housing on the end of the
shaft that split.
Mike
