It depends on which sensor is turning it on. There are 1-Trip, 3-Trip, and
Instant-On codes and depending on the sensor/part/module failure, the light
can either turn off or stay on. In your case, yes...an O2 code will keep
the light on...even stored. Year/model depending (PCM programming)
