Lots of guys running the GenIII 17" R/T wheels on GenIIs with no problems.
Don't see why the 16" rims wouldn't work.

What I'm thinking of is a 255/70R16 or 265/70R16 tire (similar tire
width/height to a 30x9.5x15 or 31x10.5x15). Obviously a 30x9.5x15 tire
won't fit a 16" rim.
