Wow, you would think all the questions have been asked and answered...
How about an oil debate?
My personal opinion is Mobil1 15w50 is the
best oil on the planet, but I am rapidly becoming fond of Mobil1 5w40 >
Turbo Diesel Truck formula.
Depending on if I can pin down the > differences between ESP 5w40 and
the TDT 5w40, I might switch to it for > everything...
Mobile one should work fine for roller cam engines.
Not enough anti-scuff for flat tappet old school engines. (ZINC and
PHOSPHATES)
My new truck gets royal purple
as does my son's one ton ctd

Aaahhh, that's more like it...So, what magical "anti-slip" stuff are you
referring to?
Royal Purple? Didn't they get in trouble for false advertising and
misleading marketing claims?http://tinyurl.com/yhpqncg
I mean, you don't actually believe the marketing, do you?
j/k love ya rob...
LIST
Well one thing interesting, the only thing that mentions zinc on the Royal Purple site
is their break-in oil.
I thought their racing oil use to claim that also
Shell Rotella T was the going setup for oil until the EPA mandated removal of the Zinc
to meet their new brain-dead standards.
Interesting that Castrol was the one that put it to Royal Purple for their claims....
The only engine i had lose a bearing for no apparent reason was running Castrol GTX.
Joe Gibbs and Brad Penn's oils have zinc, also additives are available especially for
new engine start ups.
i use royal purple because it matches the color of our plum crazy six-pack challenger.
