Looking forward to the pics as the build progresses!

Subject: DML: Update on the R/T

As many of you may know, my R/T has been out of action since December. I was driving along (at 25mph!) and the truck had no power and running extremely rough. Giving it gas did nothing. Had it towed to my buddy's shop and he pulled the spark plug to do a compression test on #1 piston. All was fine. He moved over to #3... 0 compression. He grabbed his scope to look down into the cylinder and found nothing. No piston at all. He pulled the head and saw this:

To this day, we still haven't located the piston.

Since I had just ordered a transmission from Martin Saine, the wife and I decided to fix the R/T which means new engine. I'm okay with this =). Here are the specs on the new motor being built as we speak:
Mopar cast 408 stroker crank
factory rods (they're forged!)
Ross racing forged pistons (9.5:1 compression)
Comp Cams 220/230 cam with .544/.544 lift at 110lsa
Harland Sharp adjustable 1.6 roller rockers
Hughes hardened pushrods, rocker stud kit and guideplates
Cloyes timing set and tensioner
M1
53mm tb
Spintech headers and true dual exhaust
MP PCM (until I can find a stocker for a custom tune)
SFI Damper
Ported factory heads

I still have to find a set of valve springs I like and a couple of other odd n' ends to finish the build. Machine shop said the longblock should be ready in a couple of weeks. /excited face!

Hopefully I can get some pics of it before and during installation. I'll keep everyone posted as things progress.
