The thing is, frames are becoming scarce even in yards... scrap prices are
high enough to where a lot of yards just pull what they can warehouse and
scrap the rest. Before I got the 2000, I was looking for a gen2 chassis,
and they were very hard to come by. Even gen3 parts are getting a bit thin
for the oddball stuff.
Cash for Clunkers really changed the game.... when you had yards with a
mandate to crush cars within X amount of days, and the yards actually found
out that it was profitable just to warehouse the stuff like doors, fenders,
and engines that weren't from CFC cars and then scrap the rest... they kept
it up.
