Now the new stuff:

Well, browsed the FSM and came up with no new info. In the FSM, sure-grip
is listed as Trac-Lok, but no specifications as to whether it was available
only with certain rearends. I guess I've answered my own question about the
rearend ratio, but I'm still curious where other folks got their
(specifically) data for '96 models. Also, the 5200# tow rating for the V8
with *ANY* rear end ratio, I also cannot find anywhere... the only matrix
I've found is in the Dakota Owner's manual, and it's specific by engine,
rearend ratio, and transmission. Perhaps the sure-grip rear was only
available in 3.55 and 3.90 ratios in the 4-speed automatic?? And if my
truck can tow 5200 lbs. with the Class III hitch I put on I should be all
set for Carlisle. Who can either confirm or deny any of this stuff? Gawd,
I get confused just trying to write the posting!!!

Ciao!
