This is a followup to an earlier post regaring my current problem with
my truck, and is based on suggestions recieved from that post.
Can anybody tell me if there would be a problem if I were to
temporarily connect an electronic fuel pump between the fuel filter
and the "Carb" on my 88 Dakota 3.9L engine?
Or should it be placed ahead of the filter as apposed to following
it?
Would this work, or would it cause damage to any of the existing
components? IE: existing fuel pump or fuel injector's.
I think that I may have a fuel delivery problem and I want to see if
the temporary placement of an external electronic pump will solve the
problem before I go through the hassle and expense of removing the
tank and replacing the factory installed pump in tank. "$119. from
the dealer".
I have an old electric pump "from the Fiat-spider" that still works
and was curious if I could use it to help diagnose the problem. |
