I have found some tow hooks which will fit my Dakota. I have a '92 Sport with
the front valence, and lights, so this wasn't an easy task. I was able to use
the factory hooks from a Chevy S10, yes I know it is sacrilegious. They were
relatively cheap ~$20, made of large steel, and they have a long mounting shank
which I couldn't find any where else. I used the S10 because of the direction
they mount, but the hooks for the big Chevy would work also. I have them
mounted at an angle so they can stick through the holes with the fog lights
(they look like fangs). I know having them at an angle reduces the load they
can carry, but I have a 6ft. strap I attach to both hooks at the same time. I
also need the strap because the hooks are very close to the valance (1/4") all
the way around. They have small bolt holes, but there is enough metal to drill
them out for 1/2" bolts and leave lots of good steel. I have used them on
numerous occasions, but just to pull other people out. :)
