sounds like noisy lifters

I believe many Dakota owners are mistakenly
diagonosing their noisy valvetrain problems
incorrectly. What sounds like a noisy or tapping
lifter, is more likley the multiport fuel
injection. The intake manifold which houses
the 3.9/5.2/5.9 magnum injectors is quiet large
and is prone to resonate and amplify the "clicking"
on and off pulses of the injectors ( which is
normal ). If under hard acceleration the noise
appears to lesson than I feel what you have is a
typical magnum injector noise. But if the
tapping/clicking sound greatly increase than I
belive " you " have a internal valvetrain problem
that needs addressing.
