Hi all:

I took delivery of my 1997 Dodge Dakota Club Cab 4x4 Sport on
Thursday the 12th. It is the most beautiful vehicle I have ever
seen. The truck is glossy black with red "Sport" logos on the doors
and red "Dodge" and "4x4" logos on the tailgate.

I drove the truck from the dealership to a local shop that does
spray-in bedliners. For $289, I had an under-the-rail bedliner
sprayed-in. The bedliner looks nice and should protect the bed from
most scratches. It's not tough enough to catch a load of falling
cement blocks but it'll carry what I need to throw back there.

Here's my truck:

Dakota Club Cab 4x4 Sport (AN5L31)
(5.2L Magnum engine, 5-spd tranny)

I added the following options...
HAA Air conditioning
DSA Anti-spin rear end (3.55 to 1)
AJP Power windows/power locks
CLA Floor mats
LNJ Fog Lamps
ADJ Heavy Duty Service Group
ADA Light Group
RAZ CD Player
AJB Security Group
AHC Trailer Tow Group
GFD Sliding Rear Window

It's Black with an Agate Interior. I *didn't* order the 31" tires,
flares and sway bar.

The total sticker price for all the goodies is $25,166. There is a
$1000 "Dodge Discount". Final sticker price is $24,166. I paid a
lot less than that.

I'll be sure to post any problems to the Dakota list. I've listened
to her at highway speeds at haven't noticed the air leak that has
plagued other owners. This thing is soooo quiet when cruising down
the road!

Now I'll have to save up my pennies so I can get her into
Kukukooter's garage for a little "performance boost". :^)

Prospective buyers: Feel free to email me on the list (or directly)
with your questions. I'll be glad to relate my experiences with the
new truck.

One Happy Dodge Owner,
-Scott

p.s. You should see the engine compartment. It's so sharp! :^)
