First I would like to thank Jon for all his work in putting together the Dak
home page
for all of us. He has done an outstanding job in his compiliations of Dak
goodies. Too bad we can't expand the list to the Rams and Cherokees. Sam,
get your picture loaded to Jon for the page picts, and resend them to me as a
JPG
only. Oh yeh, I have been griping lately that no one has tryed my Dak on the
street
while all you guys mention Ford's, GMC's etc put down by your mighty
Magnum's.
Well, I have had one guy in a 454SS try once and it wasn't pretty, but that
was 6 month's ago.
Well another one bites the dust, er, Impalla SS, black LT-1 to be exact.
Matter of fact,
I was thinking while my son and I were picking up Papa Aldo's Pizza, that no
one ever toys with me
on the street. Then right beside me, this car is staying with me while the
traffic is pulling ahead.
How ironic, it's some guy is a SS surging forward agging me on. I was in
third with water all over the road
and goosed it quickly still doing 30 mph, he nailed it, then slowed down
seeing I didn't follow his lead.
I did the same again, he followed suit but stayed at 30 with me. So I am
thinking, "If I punch it, he will win
cause my tires will spin in this water for sure, and he'll tell everybody his
15 sec Impalla SS waxed that
Dakota. What the heck, let's see what these tires can do if I nurse the
clutch." So I shifted down into second gear with my rpms around 4500 rpm, and
nailed it. The rearend fishtaled like I expected, but bit! I started to shift
to third but saw the SS
2 cars behind and a car in front of me, so I let off and then he passed me,
slowing down again?!?!? Once is
enough for me with my kid. I got behind him and stayed there till he turned
off, touching my finger to
my tongue...sssssss........Everyone have a wonderful Christmas and hope that
Santa Jules will leave
something under our trees...
