A couple of friends of mine are the co-owners of Nowtronics Inc., makers of
the top of the line on board computer system for bikes...... Harleys in
particular. Their unit replaces the stock speedo, & is a bolt on deal. The
"new speedo" has an LCD display, And tells you the time & date, digital MPH,
bar graph tach, charging voltage, 0-60 time, 1/4 mile time, any time between
user programmed point one & user progammed point two, over speed indicator
(programmable), oil change reminder (programmable), & built in burgular
alarm. It even flashes your name across the screen on powerup.
The unit is dead accurate.... it's programmed by the actual distance your
vehicle travels in one rotation of the front tire.
My question is.....
If there was a simular hand held unit for cars, would you be interested?
The car unit could monitor oil pressure, oil temp, fuel flow, etc. It could
give calculated HP figures based on acceleration times & vehicle weight. It
could do just 'bout anything you would want. (And they'd appreciate a "want
list")
Is this something that you'd buy? I'd appreciate any feedback, especially
negative.
Thanx.
