FYI my father forwarded me this note:
AAA has indicated that NHTSA has begun preliminary evaluation of
possible safety problems with the following Chrysler vehicles.
RAM '94 -- airbag inflator failure
Ram '94/95 -- steering column failure
Perhaps your RAM newsletter folks would like to know that this is
in
progress.
NHTSA Auto Safety Hotline is 800/424-9393.

ps. I think if anything kills Chrysler's recent excellent sales
trends
it will be:
1.the "gang-bang" sales philosophy still used at most CC dealers,
2.the seemingly higher than normal problems with paint and body
integrity (especially) and small things that CC dealers tend to
dismiss as "normal" and seem to be fixed at import dealers,
3.the rude, headstrong service desk dicks (typical)
4.repairs that are [pick one:] done incorrectly requiring another
appointment, adequately but poorly/sloppily performed, unnecessary
and
done out of urge for profit or by ignorance, not done in a
reasonable
timeframe,
5.problems that they could fix right away (steering column for
one,
front tire wear for two) but put off until "next model revision".
of course there are more but then again i try to avoid dealers...
