I'd be curious to know why this is the case. Have any of you
'97 owners found out? Making a guess, it might have something to
do with increased tire radius on the tire/suspension package
either decreasing towing capacity, or making it impossible to fit
a receiver around the spare.
My 97 4X4 Sport Plus has the upgraded tire/suspension package and
the factory towing package. No problems noticed so far. Maybe they are
incompatible with a 2X4 for some reason.
