I read this in Chrysler Car Enthusiast issue No.141.
"Dodge is recalling 140,000 1988-90 Dodge Dakota 4x2 pickups with V8s. The
vehicle frame or steering gear mounting bolts can crack. This may cause
the steering gear to separate from the frame, resulting in loss of control.
Dealers will add reinforcements to the frame and replace the mounting
bolts."
Hope no one has had this happen. I guess for more info contact you local
dealer.
