I was using about 50 psi all around and the back tires were wearing in the
center pretty badly. Now I've got 45psi in front and 35psi in back when
unloaded, and I pump up the back as needed.

} The original tires on my '91 V8 CC LE Dakota were XCH4 tires,
} 65 PSI max. Load range D. (215/75/15). When I replaced them with
} BFG AT tires (same size) they came with a C rating... 1750# each..
} x 4 tires= 7000 rating... Take away the trucks hefty 4300# (with me
} and 22 gallons of gas) that leaves a 2700# load capability... The truck had
} the 2000# option, so I had 700# to spare with the 'tires'

Your assuming the weight is evenly distributed on all four wheels. I
don't think this is the case. I'd assume all the load goes on the rear
wheels, as well as some percentage (look it up in a Road & Track review)
of the unloaded weight.
