This doesn't suprise me at all. I was originally lookin' at
Lightnings as I've got an older Mustang GT. The Lightning is only 240
hp. It's got 4.10's and more torque but they weigh a lot more than
your Dak. The only thing I miss about not getting a Lightning is the
amount of aftermarket parts available for 'em. Except for that,
wouldn't give up my Dak for one if you offered it to me for free.

On my lunch break today, I pulled up at a light next to a Ford Lightning
(351 powered F-150). When the light went green, I took off fairly easy
because I didn't know if the guy wanted to race or not. I didn't even have
the Dak floored in first gear. He punched the Ford and so I opened it up in
2nd and 3rd gears - we got up to about 75 mph or so and we were side by side
the entire way. If I had launched hard I'm sure I could've beaten him. Or
if I had an SBEC - fat chance with a 1996 though.
