Hey Bob:

Thanks for your comments. YMMV?

Your Mileage May Vary (or your experience may differ)

I hope you mean 30,000+ miles not kilometres for life expectancy. I know
the alignement guy personally who checked my truck, no problems with
alignment.

Yes, definitely 30k + miles. I may have even exceeded 40k, but can't ever remember
getting 50k on any vehicle I've owned (give me sticky rubber any day vs long wearing
rubber that doesn't grip if there is a trade off).

AS for truck vs passenger tires, I rarely haul more than several hundred pounds
in the bed, but intend to tow a trailer. Some truck tires (particularly off-road)
have an unacceptable noise level for the vehicle I gotta live with every day.

My preference would be a lowered 4X4 (good handling hwy/snow vehicle) to the
raised 4X4 off-road lug-tired kinda beast, but that's me. Passenger tires have
done fine in the past with what I do. If you go for the package option, you end
up with the 31" tires which I'll live with, but is not my first choice for my
type of driving.
