As I mentioned in an earlier post, John Walker has been considering buying a
set of '97 15x8 wheels that come with the tire and handling package to put
on his 93 Dakota. We have been talking about working out a deal with tires.
He really likes the look of the Eagle LS's on the 15x8 wheels and he can't
go much wider that 235/70 because of possible frame rub. Since I have a
virtually brand new set of 235/70 Eagle LS's, we have been talking about a
deal where I would get a set of new, wider tires and John would get my Eagle
LS's and we would split the cost of the new tires. It's really a pretty
good deal both ways. Therefore, I began looking at larger tires. I think I
am going to go with a set of 275/60's. What brand would you guys recommend.
I have been mainly focusing on the Firestone Firehawk SS10 and the Goodyear
Eagle GTII. The problem is that there really aren't any tires that size
that have outlined white letters, they are all raised white letters. Does
anyone know of a company that makes a nice looking 275/60 with OWL? Also,
what do you guys think of the tires I have been looking at? I know I could
get a set of 5 Firehawk SS10's mounted and balanced for $418. Any info is
appreciated.
