With directional tires, arrows on sidewall indicating direction of drive,
they should ONLY be mounted to rotate in the direction of the arrow.
These are usually hi performance V and Z rated street tires though. It
probably doesn't make any difference with non-direcitonal tires, and the
Dakota owner's manual shows both a 4 and 5 tire rotation with tires going
to opposite sides of the vehicle.
Personally I only rotate radials front to back on the same side.
