I have a feeling on my '97 CC 4x4. It might not be a bad as yours though.
There was a message last month about it being the steering rod that comes
from the firewall to the rack below. There is a bolt that holds the two
pieces of the rod together. It's right at the bolt that the rods give
enough that you can feel it in the steering wheel on acceleration and
deceleration. Someone said they took a straight steel bar w/ two hose
clamps and got rid of the feeling. Now that I know it's not a real
'problem' I simply ignore mine. I'm afraid of excessive bearing wear if I
try to force the joint not to give.
