No clipping on this beast.
I keep the gains down so I can run 95% w/o distortion (as measured by ear
an scope). Granted I won't win db contests this way, but I will keep
accidents from happening. I need to keep the db meter in there to keep me
from going overboard. But I do hear the tire squeal on the turns. Maybe I
only turn between songs?!?

But HOW can you hear it with that 500w of serious sound?!?!?
(Either it's not serious, or your amp's are 'clipping'!!) LOL :P

BTW: I had an honest 350w sound system in my old Mitsubishi
5 years ago. 250w PPI amp for the sub, and 100w PPI amp for the mid
bass, mids, and highs. Blaupunkt Dallas tuner, Blaupunkt CD01 pullout
CD player, and pioneer passive eq. Ran 2- 6" mids in the doors, with 1"
dome tweeters (all Punch). Ran 2- 8" mid bass beneath the seats, and
2- 10" subs behind the seats (all Punch), and had a COFFIN size box
beneath my carpet kit in the bed (with a shell) that had 2- 12" Pyle
sub woofers (hey, they were free so I thought I would experiment!). The
stereo sounded great, and FELT even better. Unfortunately I had a problem
with HEADACHES, so I gave it all up. Who knows what kind of hearing
problems I'll have done the road!
When I moved up to a Dakota, I didn't want to hassle with car
alarms, and worrying about who might break into my truck... Haven't
had an alarm in 5 years. Anyway, don't blow your ears out like I did!!!
