When hooking up a tow line (with hooks) to a vehicle's tow rings or a chain
wrapped around a tree: Make sure you install the hook through the bottom
of the tow ring or chain. That way, if the hook bends/straightens when you
put a load on it, the force will drive the hook down, into the ground,
instead of up, through the air. This could save your life. Also make sure
you and bystanders stand in a safe area while putting a load on the line.
