the reason: they have to take the shipments to LA, then back to Santa
Barbara...
The gas here in San Diego is sent down via pipeline from LA, then tankered
to the
gas stations... Your fuel must be 'trucked' all the way back from LA... So
you get
a higher price. I do work for a company that is a reseller of fuel oils...
In California
38 cents of the price is state tax (approx.), then another 25 cents
(approx.) for
federal tax... OUCH... It wasn't taxed that much a few years ago...
