Camper Shells & CO Exhaust

Greetings, I'd like to clarify a point on the issue of CO poisioning in
shell enclosed vehicles. One of the referenced cases, where 2 children died
while riding in the back of a pick-up with shell, had to do with an older
model pick-up where the back hatch had been propped open a few inches and
left that way for a several hundred mile drive. I believe the conclusion
was that propping the hatch open allowed exhaust to be forced into the
shell from the low pressure area created behind most trucks with shells. I
don't believe there were any exhaust leaks found on the truck. Personally,
I dont think that would be possible if the hatch was closed or even open
completely for that matter.
