The 97's also use the key on off on off on sequence. The only difference is
that the codes show up in the electronic odometer as a number, no more
flashing lights.

I do have a '96 and I can positively verify that it *DOES* work! Any
other '96 owners care to verify?? (John, Tom, Lee, Tony, who else am I
forgetting?) How about '97 owners, has anyone tried checking codes this
way???

Hmmm, I'm still wondering what MSD would have to say in their defense, or
whether MP has any comments on this issue.
