We used to use water-wetter in our race car, though we also needed to run 100%
water, and the water-wetter has anti-corrosion properties. However, the guy
from Red-line who donated the stuff to us explained that water-wetter breaks
the surface tension of the water (sort of like soap?) and thus bubbles don't
get trapped in the solution and you get better heat transfer from the engine
to the coolant to the radiator. Now I'd hope this guy knew what he was
talking about, since he worked for Redline, but he may have been more
Sales-oriented than technical (even though they gave us the stuff)
I have no idea how effective it is when mixed with antifreeze, we never ran it
that way.
Anyhow, just my $.02 worth.
